Common questions
How do I play?
Drag a piece from the tray onto the board. Fill a full row or column and it clears. Pieces never rotate, and there is no timer. A piece that no longer fits anywhere is shown dimmed. The game ends when none of the three pieces in the tray fits.
How do the levels work?
Each level asks you to place a number of pieces — ten on the first level, then twelve, fourteen and so on. The next level starts with a clean board and a few stone blocks, which clear like anything else.
I lost my progress.
The game saves after every move, so CONTINUE picks up where you left off. The save is deleted when a game ends — that is by design, not a bug. Settings and your best score are kept separately and survive.
Can I play with the keyboard?
Yes, on Mac. 1 2 3 or Tab pick a piece, the arrow keys move it, Space or Enter places it, Esc drops it or pauses, M opens the menu and F11 toggles fullscreen.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. The game has no networking code at all, and no ads, accounts or in-app purchases.
I bought it on iPhone. Do I pay again on Mac?
No. It is a universal purchase: buy it once and it works on iPhone and on Mac with the same Apple Account.
How do I restore my purchase?
Grid Drop is a one-time purchase with nothing to unlock inside it, so there is nothing to restore. Reinstalling it from the App Store on a device signed in with the same Apple Account downloads it again at no extra cost.
The music is too loud.
Music and sound effects have separate sliders in OPTIONS, on the main menu.
Requirements
iPhone with iOS 15 or later, or a Mac with macOS 11 or later. Grid Drop is a paid app: $2.99, with no ads, no in-app purchases and no subscriptions. It runs entirely offline.
